PsiQuantum is on a mission to build the world’s first utility-scale, 1 million-plus qubit quantum computer, powered by breakthroughs in silicon photonics and quantum architecture. We were founded in 2015 by the world’s foremost experts in photonic quantum computing and have assembled a world class team dedicated to bringing the world-changing benefits of quantum computing into reality.

Quantum computing is anticipated to unlock the solutions to otherwise impossible computational tasks, with impact across science, technology, and business. By harnessing the laws of quantum physics, quantum computers are expected to dramatically outperform even the most powerful existing (or future) supercomputers and offer the potential to enable extraordinary advances across a broad range of applications including climate, energy, healthcare, finance, agriculture, transportation, materials design, and more, as well as deliver entirely new industries.

PsiQuantum is uniquely positioned to deliver on the promise of quantum computing. We have already demonstrated that it’s possible to manufacture core quantum components using the standard and scalable manufacturing processes of a world-leading semiconductor fab.

Our team is working across the full stack of quantum computing, from hardware design, manufacturing, and packaging through to quantum architecture and quantum algorithms. We’re a highly integrated, collaborative group and love tackling problems than span across interfaces.

There’s more work to be done and we are looking for exceptional talent to join us on this extraordinary journey!

Job Summary:

We are looking for an electronics product engineer to join our team. The product engineer owns characterization and product release of custom SoC’s and will support internal customers with the integration of these complex IC’s into electro-optical sub-systems. The task the company is undertaking is breathtaking, and you could help make history in this innovative, high profile area.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with IC design engineers throughout the design process to define the test strategy based on parametric test, DFT and system-level test techniques for integrated devices and circuits.
  • Drive characterization for IC’s and electro-optical subassemblies, including planning, execution and documentation.
  • Support and guide the systems team with system integration and system validation.
  • Partner with test engineering on bring up and verification on new silicon designs. Guide test hardware and test program selection aligned to test strategy.
  • Be the primary contact and interface between the IC design team and internal users of our IC’s. Provide support and guidance during chip bring up and debugging.
  • Coordinate and lead vendor engagements when needed for design and implementation of test hardware and fixtures.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related discipline
  • 3+ years of relevant work or academic research preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of complex SOC debug and validation as well as general understanding SoC digital and mixed signal types of products. Ability to debug boards and software control systems.
  • Strong track record of bringing silicon through R&D test and into production. Familiarity with IC design and development process and flow from specification through production ramp.
  • Successful history of taking IC specifications and developing silicon test and qualification requirements, plans and documentation.
  • Experience with testing for ESD compliance and safety.
  • Familiar with both usage and automation of test programs with common lab test equipment such as oscilloscopes, BERT’s, pattern generators, logic analyzers, signal generators, DMM’s, SMU’s and other equipment.

  • Experience working with Wafer Foundries, Design Services, Assembly and Test Providers.
  • Hands-on test experience and test implementation.
  • Software coding using Python, C and other common languages.
  • Domain knowledge in one or more of these areas is a plus: clocking, high speed SerDes, PLLs, high speed drivers, Ge-PD photonic detectors.
  • CMOS device physics knowledge as it applies to mixed signal IC design.
  • Experience working with leading edge technologies.
  • Demonstrated interest in quantum computing.
  • SoC support experience in different application fields.
  • Proven experience executing cross-department complex projects and track record of impactful results.
