About The Role: 

The SandboxAQ team is looking for an experienced Networking Software Engineer to help functionalize the next generation of cryptographic systems. A successful candidate will be comfortable with user space Linux development, network engineering, cryptographic algorithms and secure protocols.  Experience in Machine Learning will be considered a plus. They will be part of a diverse team consisting of cryptographers, mathematicians, ML experts, and physicists, where they will play a key role in efficient and effective enablement of the technologies being developed.

This position is contingent on contract award.

How you will make an impact:

  • Develop security-oriented network products leveraging open source and proprietary frameworks
  • Design and implement a Key Management System abstraction layer, able to integrate with multiple existing solutions
  • Perform network and Linux host profiling, identify potential performance tradeoffs
  • Contribute to the design of (asynchronous) networking-oriented APIs 
  • Prototype and evaluate automation of network services
  • Contribute to the design of (asynchronous) networking-oriented APIs
  • Develop security-oriented network products leveraging open source and proprietary frameworks 
  • Provide guidance on software development scope, capacity, prioritization and best practices

What you should have:

  • U.S. Citizenship and/or security clearance is required due to USG contract requirements
  • 3-5 years experience as a Network Software Engineer with knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) network encryptors
  • Competency with Go/Python on Linux hosts
  • WAN/LAN Knowledge, Network Design and Implementation
  • Network layer 3 routing, layer 2 switching, and firewall configurations
  • Overall understanding of networking, both peer-to-peer & routed implementations
  • Working knowledge of DISA STIG requirements, implementation, and validation documentation
  • CompTIA Security+ certification or ability to obtain
  • Knowledge of DoD network architecture and design
  • Understanding of security and privacy technologies, including encryption, authentication protocols, identity and access management systems
  • Ability to work in a small team / rapid prototyping environment and deal with uncertainty and fluidity
  • Understanding of network infrastructure fundamentals and network operations

It’d be great if you also had these:

  • Active TS with SCI eligibility within the last 2 years
  • Skills in managing a team of engineers for planning, design, and routine activities to support customer networks
  • Familiarity with Post-Quantum Cryptography methodologies
  • Ability to take initiative, adapt quickly to changing priorities and work with a high sense of urgency
