We are currently looking for PhD students in a wide variety of STEM fields — physics, computer science, AI, neuroscience, chemistry, cryptography, mathematics/statistics, biomedical engineering, aerospace engineering, geophysics, and more — to join our world-class team of engineers, scientists and technologists.

AI & Machine Learning

Our AI & ML team is focused on bringing cutting-edge techniques to bear on high-impact problems. We engage in deep research while maintaining close contact with the needs of the customers.  New generative methods and technologies like GPT-3, DALL-E 2, Stable Diffusion, and others based on foundation models are paving the way for a new set of real-world applications of AI. As a resident, you will take ownership of a project to advance the way these tools are used in the real world.

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Familiarity with common AI/ML tools (TensorFlow, JAX, PyTorch, etc.)
  • Familiarity with the latest developments in AI and machine learning, including LLMs VLMs
  • Strong research publications
  • Experience with rapid prototyping to deploy AI/ML models with quick turnaround
  • Expertise in one or more focus areas of ML, such as NLP, time series analysis, image classification, Bayesian optimization, etc.

Details

  • Location: Remote. *hardware/laboratory residents for Quantum Sensing onsite in SF Bay, CA
  • Start date: Year-round, on a rolling basis
  • Duration: Flexible, typically between 3 months to one year

Eligibility

  • Currently enrolled in a STEM PhD program: math, computer science, engineering, physics, or related field. **Non-PhD post-graduate students may be considered on a case-by-case basis (e.g. MD, Masters)
  • Proficiency with at least one programming language (Python, C/C++, Matlab, etc.)
