We are strengthening our Asia Pacific business team and seeking an HPC Business Development Manager, APAC, to join the IQM journey towards the quantum future!

You will be a critical contributor to IQM's global business development efforts in delivering new quantum hardware sales. By building and owning relationships with HPC centers, data centers, and selected enterprise or industrial customers, you'll understand the local needs and define a solution with IQM's products. To support your work, you'll be working with local experts and IQM's technical and business teams, including senior management. You will be reporting to the Head of Asia Pacific Business.

What will I be doing?

  • Key account management and development of our HPC and data centers business in APAC
  • Identifying the customer needs and business cases for quantum computing
  • Creating business plans and strategies for assigned territories and driving implementation, including developing a sales pipeline
  • Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers in person and via telephone calls and emails
  • Build detailed proposal documents, often as part of a formal bidding process which is largely dictated by the prospective customer. Willing to completely own this solution response and coordinate members within other teams in achieving answers.
  • To be able to run a sales campaign from the ground up through different stages of the sales cycles.
  • Cold call to arrange meetings with potential customers to prospect for new business
  • Hosting external visitors (customers, partners, government) together with the management team and marketing
  • Participating to trade fairs, events, and exhibitions as a member of the IQM team and staff at the booth
  • Working with a diverse and international team of internal and external stakeholders

What skills do I need?

  • MSc, MBA, or relevant degree in physics, engineering, or business
  • 5 years or more experience in business development or sales in a data center or HPC environment
  • Existing network within the data center community and HPC ecosystem in the APAC region
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including relationship management, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Self-management in terms of the ability to multi-task, prioritize, set and meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and networking skills
  • Fluent in English

Skills that are seen as beneficial

  • Experience working in international sales
  • Other language skills 
  • Industry-recognized data center-related certification is an advantage (e.g., CDCS, DC-certified professional, ITIL, DC specialist, etc.)
